This is me

I’m a business strategist, researcher, and thought leader helping small, businesses create lasting value, strengthen customer retention, and compete with strategy. 

Grounded in my doctoral research on Strategies for Member Retention in Boutique Fitness Clubs—downloaded  1,200+ times—I equip business owners with the strategy and insight to retain more customers, create more value, and compete with purpose.

I don’t push one-size-fits-all solutions.


Instead, I draw from a full strategy toolkit—Porter’s Competitive Advantage, Blue Ocean Strategy, and Hybrid Strategy—to meet businesses where they are.

Some are ready to innovate and create uncontested space.  Others need to double down on loyalty and differentiation in crowded markets.

I guide small business owners and leaders to retain customers, stand out in crowded markets, and grow with strategy-driven frameworks.

Porter’s Competitive Advantage, Blue Ocean Strategy, Blue Ocean Leadership, and Hybrid Strategy each offer small businesses a roadmap for how to compete, grow, and stand out. Porter’s framework teaches businesses to choose a clear path: lead on cost, differentiate with value, or focus on a niche. Blue Ocean Strategy, on the other hand, encourages businesses to stop fighting competitors head-on and instead create uncontested market space through innovation. Blue Ocean Leadership applies that same concept internally—helping leaders unlock energy and performance across all levels of the organization by eliminating what’s not working and creating value-driven leadership behaviors. Hybrid Strategy blends all of these elements—allowing businesses to improve retention, operate efficiently, and introduce innovation without completely reinventing their model.

 

The reality is, most small businesses—especially in service industries—don’t have the resources to jump straight into a Blue Ocean. Many face real-world challenges like limited cash flow, staffing constraints, or the pressure to compete on price just to survive. That’s why I don’t push one-size-fits-all solutions. I meet business owners where they are. Whether they’re just trying to hold their ground in a crowded market or starting to explore new ways to stand out, I help them build a path forward using strategy that fits their current stage.

 

My role is to guide—not push. I understand that innovation takes time, clarity, and often, more resources than a business has today. But I also know that smart strategy can start small. Through retention-focused tools, frameworks, and accessible education, I help business owners apply the parts of these strategies that work for them now—so they can grow intentionally, compete smarter, and build businesses their customers never want to leave.
